If you are new to resistance training, we advise that you choose a light to medium strength resistance rope. The length of the rope is a personal preference and you can adjust it once it arrives using our 'Setting the Length' page. The use of our wonder widget means that any length of rope can be fitted to your exact height. If needed, once the rope has been adjusted, you can tuck the spare rope into the handles or snip it off. If you are unsure which Resist&Skip rope to use, we suggest you use a longer rope and then shorten it to your preferred length.
You can use your height as a general guide to find the rope best suited to you:
Up to 5ft - Short length & light resistance - Purple Resist&Skip Rope
Up to 5ft 3" - Medium length & medium resistance- Orange Resist&Skip Rope
5ft 3" and over - Long length & stronger resistance - Green Resist&Skip Rope
PURPLE FITNESS ROPE
|2 metres||Light - suitable for taller children||Up to 5 ft|
ORANGE FITNESS ROPE
|2.2 metres||Medium - suitable for teenagers or shorter adults||Up to 5ft 3"|
GREEN FITNESS ROPE
|2.5 metres||Strong - suitable for adults||Over 5ft 3"|
If you regularly skip for fitness you may already have a preference for a certain length skipping rope. This is where having a choice of lengths in different strengths comes in handy. But beware! Our harder resistance ropes will make your workout significantly more challenging especially when shortened.
Smaller childrens' ropes are now available for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children. As a guide: Key Stage 1 Resist&Skip ropes are suitable for children aged between 5 and 7 years. Key Stage 2 Resist&Skip ropes are suitable for children aged between 7 and 10 years. If your child prefers a slightly longer rope so we advise that you use the 2 metre Purple Rope.
